The Difference is Taking Action
This is what I believe because I am living it: your life is one action away from being absolutely awesome.
There was a time when I did not get that, but then something amazing happened.
As of the publishing of this post, canwilldone.com is four days from being live for one year. Considering that it took 1 year, 4 months and 24 days for it to go live, that is a REALLY. BIG. DEAL!
At the pace I was going, this blog was on the verge of not happening at all. What happened to change that?
It all comes down to a part of the foundation of can. will. DONE! act on what you say you will do.
I finally let loose of perfection, worrying about not knowing EVERYTHING one needs to know to have a successful blog, agonizing over who was my target market, and worrying about whether or not anyone cared to learn from me how to grow personally while also becoming healthier. Because as I thought to myself, “Seriously, who am I amongst millions of other bloggers?”
Instead I took action on what I did know with the belief that, over time, the blog would evolve into something beneficial, inspirational, and life altering.
The following quote motivated me. It is the same quote that is currently on the about page.
The key to success is not perfection. It is making peace with the phrase good enough and moving on. Done is better than perfect. – Unknown
It was a simple quote that helped to propel me into action. Since it helped me, I took the time to find quotes to motivate you to take action on whatever it is that has been holding you back from taking the necessary action that you need to take.
Action 1: Identify Your Limiting Thoughts and Beliefs
Before moving on to the quotes, let's first talk about what may cause your inaction. I want to take you through this first because it has been my experience that in order to change something about yourself you first need to do some self-reflection.
After years of inaction and failed attempts at losing weight, it was self-reflection that started me on the road to losing 75 pounds. Above, when I mentioned all the things of which I let loose, it boiled down to perfection, fear, and self-doubt holding me back. My ability to target those areas all happened after some soul searching and self-reflection.
I consider this self-reflection as the process of identifying what is limiting you. By identifying your limiting thoughts and beliefs you will more effectively change your thoughts and beliefs.
So…what are your limiting beliefs? I shared some of mine with you already in talking about how long it took to get this blog live. I will repeat them again. Perfectionism, fear (of failure), and self-doubt.
Other limiting thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that can lead to inactivity include believing you are not smart enough or good enough, anxiety, disbelief in yourself, disbelief in possibilities, and playing to your experience and circumstance, just to name a few.
Identify what is causing your inaction, then move to the next action.
Action 2: Pick a Quote, or two, then Apply it to You
Here is the list of quotes. Pick quotes that resonate with you to motivate you to start thinking and acting differently. Most importantly, choose quotes that will propel you into action.
Here is my encouraging demand. Don't simply read them; put them somewhere that you can easily access them. That way, they will be a reminder to you that you are to be taking action.
