There is More than One Type of Detox
I suspect you are familiar with the concept of detoxing. Typically detoxing includes some sort of change in your diet to clear your body of toxins, correct?
But there are times in our lives when detoxing our bodies is not the only type of cleansing we need.
Sometimes our thoughts and our minds need a cleansing too. Our minds, in essence, need a clean break.
How Do You Know You Need Clean Break?
That's a good question.
There are several reasons for needing a clean break. By no means can I touch on them all. But if any of the following are happening with you, trust me, you are in need of a clean break. So if you're
- easily frustrated
- having trouble focusing
- yelling at people for no good reason
- feeling fatigued
- gossiping a lot
Those are possible signs that you need a break from something or someone.
How to Make a Clean Break?
Making a clean break works much like how I suggest starting to live a healthy lifestyle.
Determine where you are now: Start by determining what in your life that is causing you to feel out of sorts. Is it the people in your life? Are you too caught up in the happenings of the world?
Make changes: In order to get out of where you are, you most move from where you are. That is to say, nothing about your current status will change without action. Determine the actions you can take to change your situation. Whatever you can control, give that focus.
Surround yourself with positive people, energy, and images: If you are going through a funk, the last thing you need in your life is a Debbie-Downer or negative energy. Seek out people who are positive. Spend time with them.
Add exercise to your life: Exercise is a great way to rid yourself of mental tension. Therefore, add exercise to your daily routine.
From to time to time you are going to hit those days where you are out of sorts. Do not let those feelings linger. They could lead to more serious problems. Instead, come back to this post and do what is necessary for you to make a clean break.
